Abstract

Background: Hypertermia is a condition in which the body temperature increases above the normal range of 37oC, usually due to the body’s inability to compensate for excess heat production. One method to reduce fever is a warm compress. Objective: Describes the nursing care of children in hyperthermic patients using the warm compress method. Method: Scientific paper was written using a case study method with a descriptive approach. Data obtained from interviews and observations to patients. Instruments used: patient body temperature observation sheet, standard operating procedures warm compresses. The number of subjects is 3 respondents and the implementation is carried out for 30 minutes each meeting for 3 days of visits. Result: The results of the evaluation of nursing care showed a decrease in body temperature in clients I and II experienced the same decrease, namely 1oC. While clients III was 1,1oC. Recommendation: Giving warm compresses is recommended as a method to reduce fever.
