Abstract

Background : Shivering is a state that is not comfortable and included one of the complications that often occur after anesthesia, especially spinal anesthesia in patients undergoing surgery. Many factors can influence the occurrence of Shivering post surgery including body mass index. Objective : To determine the relationship between the patient's body mass index and the incidence of shivering in patients with spinal anesthesia . Research Metods : This research is descriptive with a literature review method based on the PICO framework . Researchers used three main databases which were then selected using inclusion criteria. From a total of 365 studies were screened into 10 studies. Result : Of the ten analysis of selected journals , stated that respondents with more lean BMI nutritional status affects the incidence of shivering compared with re s Ponden who have a normal BMI, excess, and obesity . So it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the patient's body mass index and the incidence of shivering in patients with spinal anesthesia .
