Abstract

Background: Hygiene is condition and practice of maintaining health, preventing the spread of disease, increasing self-confidence, and creating beauty. Poor behaviour during the menstruation period can lead to Reproductive Tract Infections (RTIs). Information about menstruation and menstrual hygiene habits is vital for a young woman. Educational mediais one of the ways to obtain information about menstruation and hygiene habits during menstruation. Objective: To improve knowledge about vulva hygiene during menstruation oftenager (adolescents). Method: This scientific paper is a kind of case study. Data obtained was from questionnaires. The partisipantwere teenagers who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instruments used were the participants consent sheet, questionnaire sheet and booklet. Result: After one week application of booklet media, there was an improvementof knowledge of teenagers about vulva hygiene during their menstruation. Conclusion: The application of booklet media can improve knowledge of teenagers about vulva hygiene during menstruation.
