Abstract

Background: Currently, covid 19 is one of the main health threats for every country. The number of Covid 19 patients is increasing day by day, therefore the government has issued a physical distancing policy to minimize the transmission of the Covid 19 virus, the implementation of physical distancing is the basis for implementing learning from home using online system or online learning. Objectives: This study aims to determine the impact of Covid 19 pandemic on online learning process of students at Muhammadiyah University of Gombong.. Methods: The present study used qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was carried out by online interviews using cellphones to 10 participants of the students who previously signed a consent form using the zoho form application. The results of the interviews were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Results: The results of the study obtained several themes, namely changes in activity due to the pandemic, student psychological changes, lectures during the pandemic, online lecture constraints, and students coping in the face of the Covid 19 pandemic. Conclusion: The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in changes in daily activities causing many obstacles during online learning and feelings of boredom, saturation and feelings of discomfort. Recommendation: Future researchers may expand participants by adding interviews from lecturers or parents who feel the direct impact of the Covid 19 pandemic.
