Abstract

Background: The infectious process of bronchopneumonia causes several signs and symptoms so that it can cause several nursing problems, one of which is hyperthermia. The nurse's role in overcoming hyperthermia in pneumonia clients is to provide warm compresses. The benefits of warm compresses are to lower body temperature through the conduction process and help provide comfort to the client. Objective: to provide nursing care for children with bronchopneumonia with hyperthermia at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: descriptive with a case study approach. The case study subjects to be studied were 5 children with bronchopneumonia. The tools in this study were the nursing care format, Nursing Kit, warm compress SOP, hyperthermia symptom assessment format. Presentation of data that the author does by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which is presented in the documentation method and nursing care resume Results: the results of the assessment in the five patients had the same main complaints, namely cough, fever and shortness of breath. The fifth nursing diagnosis of the patient was hyperthermia. The intervention that has been carried out on the five patients to overcome hyperthermia is Hyperthermia Management. The implementation that has been carried out on the five patients is to identify and manage body temperature due to thermoregulatory dysfunction. Observations: monitor body temperature, monitor electrolyte levels, monitor urine output, monitor complications due to hyperthermia and warm compresses. The results of the evaluation after nursing actions were carried out on the five patients showed that there was a decrease in signs of symptoms of hyperthermia problems such as decreased temperature and no fever. Giving Warm compresses are effective in reducing signs of hyperthermia symptoms. Recommendation: It is hoped that further researchers will examine bronchopneumonia pediatric patients with hyperthermia using innovative warm compresses and hugs.
