Abstract
Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) states that the incidence of typhoid fever is estimated to be more than 100 per 100,000 population. Around seven million people are affected annually in Asia with around 75,000 deaths. Fever is a nursing problem that often appears in typhoid fever patients. Non-pharmacological treatment to treat fever does not always have to be given a warm compress, one other method of compressing is using the traditional plant Aloe vera or better known to the community as aloe vera. Objective: To analyze nursing care in typhoid patients by giving aloe vera compresses to reduce hyperthermia at Prof dr Margono Soekarjo Hospital, Purwokerto Methods: The research method is descriptive with a case study approach. The case study subjects that will be studied are 5 typhoid patients with hyperthermia as the main problem. The tools in this study were the nursing care format, Nursing Kit, SOP for aloe vera compresses. The fever gauge to be used uses a thermometer. Presentation of data that the author does by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which is presented in the documentation method and nursing care resume Results: The results of the study showed that the five patients had the same main complaint as the body felt hot. Priority nursing diagnosis in Patients I-V is hyperthermia associated with increased metabolic rate. Nursing interventions carried out were hyperthermia management (I.15506) and aloe vera compress. The nursing implementation carried out is management of hyperthermia (I.15506) and aloe vera compress. The results of the nursing evaluation in the five patients showed a decrease in temperature after the aloe vera compress action in typhoid patients with hyperthermia was 0.8℃-2.8. Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference for the preparation of SOPs for handling hyperthermia using the aloe vera compress method
