Abstract

Background : Dysmenorrhea is pain during menstruation, felt in the lower abdomen, and appears before, during, and after menstrual periods. Treatment can be done by doing nonpharmacological therapy, namely foot massage. Foot massage is used as a nonpharmacological pain management technique and is very effective in reducing pain, fatigue, stress and tension as well as increasing happiness and quality of life. Objective Research : Explaining nursing care about giving foot massage therapy to adolescent girls with dysmenorrhea pain nursing problems. Method Research : This type of research was a case study. This study describe nursing care with the application of foot massage on 5 teenagers who experience dysmenorrhea in Tanjungmeru Village. The research instrument was an observation sheet on the facial pain intensity scale to measure the success of foot massage in reducing the pain scale. Resulth Research : From the data analysis, the five clients have the same problem and cause, namely pain related to menstrual disorders, which are characterized by menstrual pain that causes discomfort. Nursing action on the diagnosis of acute pain associated with physical injury agents (menstrual disorders) is the application of pain management interventions with foot massage. The results of foot massage nursing actions that have been carried out on adolescent girls with dysmenorrhea in general can reduce pain, where there is a decrease in pain scale before and after foot massage, clients feel more comfortable and relaxed. Recommendation : Foot massage is very effective for adolescents who experience dysmenorrhea pain.
