Abstract
Background : Patients suffering from heart failure (CHF) have psychosocial nursing problems with a diagnosis of helplessness. Heart failure is a clinical syndrome that results in impaired function of the heart structure for the ability of the ventricles to fill the heart . Where if people suffer from this there will be complaints of chest pain, shortness of breath and over time they will feel very tired. Helplessness is the result of subjective and internal experience which is manifested into trust which will cause someone to feel unable to control the problem. So that helplessness problems can be intervened, namely recognizing and expressing emotions, also modifying negative cognitive patterns or practicing positive thinking, on the other hand also participating in decision making related to care and also motivation to be active in achieving realistic goals. General Purpose of Writing : Describe the helplessness nursing care provided to clients with heart failure. Describe a nursing plan with the provision of reality therapy to reduce helplessness in heart failure patients with helplessness at Panti Waluyo Hospital, Purworejo. Case Study Results : In this study, the researcher chose a descriptive type of research with a case study design. In this case study, we do not use samples and populations, but rather focus on case study subjects, at least two subjects or patients (special groups, individuals, communities) and the subjects observed in particular using exclusion and inclusion criteria. Here the researcher took a sample for the study, namely 5 samples of patients in the Indraprastha room, the results of the 5 patients studied experienced a decrease in helplessness. Recommendation : Positive afferative therapeutic action nursing care is used for the problem of diagnosing helplessness in heart failure patients (CHF) can be applied in hospitals or at home if helplessness problems arise.
