Abstract
Background: The post partum period is a period that begins 2 hours after the placenta comes out until the reproductive organs recover as before pregnancy. During the purperium, which is always felt by patients, namely the onset of pain due to suturing, 37% of women complain of the condition of their perineum, sores that open or uncomfortable stitches. When the pain is left too long, perineal pain will interfere with the patient’s ability and willingness to take care of the baby. Objective: Analyzing maternity nursing care with problems acute pain nursing by giving cold compresses in the Rahmah room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Result : The result of the assesment carried out on the five clients found the main nursing problem of acute pain. After the cold compress action the result of the analysis of nursing action innovations (before and after) on the five khens managed with non pharmacological therapy of cold compresses on spontaneous post partum mothers showed that the five clients experienced a decrease in pain scale. Recommendation: The result of this study can provide additional information on using cold compresses especially to reduce pain in spontaneous post partum mothers with perineal injuries.
