Abstract
Background: Fracture problem is a break in bone continuity either due to trauma, pressure or pathological abnormalities, antebrachial fractures in adults in America, antebrachial fractures can be a common fracture in adults. it was found that upper limb fractures are estimated to have an incidence of up to 2 million cases, of which 18% were humeral fractures, 31% were antebrachial (radius and ulna) fractures, and 51% were humeral fractures. fractures of the carpals, metacarpals, and phalanges. Antebrachial fractures are estimated to occur in approximately 30% of all upper limb fractures, of which 8% of antebrachial fractures occur in the medial third, 7% occur in the proximal third and 75% occur in the distal third. Objective: To be able to apply analysis of nursing care for patients with antebrachial fractures with nursing diagnoses of acute pain with back slab cast splint dressing intervention in the emergency room at Dr Tjitrowardojo Hospital, Purworejo Methods: This study was conducted with nursing care for 5 patients while being observed in the ER with a duration of 15 minutes in a row with the intervention of giving back slab cast splints. Results: there was a decrease in pain scale in 5 patients from a pain scale of 5-6 to a pain scale of 2-3 after nursing actions were carried out in the form of back slab cast splint therapy. Recommendation: The effect of early mobilization therapy to reduce the scale of chest pain in clients with antebrachial fractures, this can be seen from the evaluation that has been carried out which showed a significant change in 5 patients to decrease the pain scale. It is hoped that the hospital, especially the emergency room, can provide information and knowledge about the effect of back slab cast splint therapy to reduce the pain scale that can be done in the hospital.
