Abstract
Background, Circumcision is a minor surgical procedure that is generally performed on children, especially school-age children. Most children who undergo circumcision show signs of anxiety that are not mild. Coping individuals who experience anxiety can vary, children who will be circumcised on average do coping by chatting with their peers, asking about the condition of their parents after being circumcised. In addition to coping strategies, several therapies can be useful in reducing anxiety, one of which is the cartoon film visual distraction technique. Objectives, To analyze nursing care with visual distraction techniques from cartoons to overcome anxiety in pre-circumcised children in Bocor Village, Buluspesantren District, Kebumen Regency. Research Methods, Using descriptive method with case study approach. Case study on 5 pre-circumcised children with anxiety in the village of Bocor village, Buluspesantren District, Kebumen Regency. Sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria with cartoon film visual distraction therapy for 10 minutes during the circumcision process Results, The results of the assessment conducted on pre-circumcised children all experienced a moderate average level of anxiety. From the applications performed on the five children who were circumcised, all of them experienced a decrease in anxiety and non-pharmacological therapy was carried out from cartoon visual distraction, the average FIS score before circumcision was 4.2 and the average FIS score during circumcision with cartoons. Visual distraction therapy film is 1.6. Recommendations, For further researchers, it is expected to use a control group such as guided imagery in anxiety children with circumcision.
