Abstract

Background: Diarrhea is one of the causes of child mortality and morbidity in the world. Diarrhea can cause death if dehydration is not treated properly. Some of the management of diarrhea are preventing dehydration from occurring, giving ORS, giving zinc, giving food intake during diarrhea, and other treatment if the child has diarrhea and other diseases. Several previous studies explained that 65% of children under five decreased the frequency of diarrhea with honey Objective: to provide nursing care of honey giving to children who experience diarrhea with diarrhea elimation disorders at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong hospital Method: descriptive with a case study approach. The case study subjects that will be studied are 5 children with diarrhea. The tools in this study were the nursing care format, Nursing Kit, original honey branded "Habbat", honey SOP, the format for assessing symptoms of diarrhea elimination disorders. Presentation of data that the author does by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which is presented in the documentation method and nursing care resume Results: The results of the assessment carried out on pediatric patients with diarrhea obtained data that the main complaint felt was impaired elimination of diarrhea. Patient I had 8 stools with a frequency, the consistency of liquid was not loose, patient II had watery stools 7x, patient III had 5x bowel movements with a liquid consistency, patient IV had 10x bowel movements with loose liquid consistency, and patient V had 6x pulp. The priority nursing diagnosis for pediatric patients with diarrhea is diarrhea elimination disorder. Nursing interventions performed were management of hypovolemia, management of diarrhea and administration of honey. The implementation of nursing carried out is management of hypovolemia, management of diarrhea and giving honey. The results of the nursing evaluation in pediatric patients with diarrhea showed that the diarrhea nursing problem was resolved with indications (increased control of stool output, improved stool consistency, improved frequency of defecation, improved intestinal peristalsis). Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference for the preparation of SOPs for the management of diarrhea elimination disorders using the non-pharmacological method of giving honey
