Abstract

Background : Acute Myocardial Infarction is necrosis of the myocardium caused by inadequate blood supply due to blockage of the coronary arteries. Blockage occurs because it is caused by the rupture of atheromatous plaques in the coronary arteries which is then followed by the occurrence of thrombosis, vasoconstriction, inflammatory reactions and distal microembolization (Muttaqin, 2012). Myocardial infarction can be divided into myocardial infarction with ST elevation (STEMI) and myocardial infarction without ST elevation (NSTEMI), one of the non-pharmacological measures to reduce pain in patients is Guided Imagery technique (Rizka, 2019). Objective : Describe the results of the analysis of nursing care for AMI patients with acute pain in the ICU PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Methodes : This scientific work uses a descriptive method with a case study approach, a case study instrument using a nursing care format, SOP guided imagery, and pain assessment observation sheets. Data were obtained from interviews, physical examinations, and documentation studies. Subjects consisted of 5 adult patients who experienced AMI with acute pain nursing problems. Nursing Care Results : The results of the assessment carried out on patients with acute myocardial infarction obtained data on the main complaint, namely left chest pain. The priority nursing diagnosis is acute pain associated with a physiological injuring agent. Nursing interventions carried out, namely pain management with guided imagery. The nursing implementation was carried out for 3 days, namely, pain management: assessing pain comprehensively, including (location, characteristics, duration, frequency), Monitor vital sign, monitor pain levels, teach non-pharmacological techniques to reduce pain (guided imagery). Recommendation : It is hoped that Guided Imagery can be used as a SOP for nonpharmacological management of acute myocardial infarction pain.
