Abstract
Background: various sources of literature state that one of the basic human needs that must be met is a sense of security and comfort. Generally, the application of this basic need is free from pain. Objective: to provide an overview of nursing care of fulfiling secure and comfort need to Mr A with fracture of the distal third tibia at Inayah Ward, PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital of Gombong. Discussion: nursing diagnoses were acute pain associated with agents of physical injury, and risk of infection: invasive procedures. Intervention and implementation were assisting patient in dealing with pain, both pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments, measuring vital signs, and doing wound care. Results: Evaluation carried out for 2 days nursing management showed that his pain relieved with scale 8 subjectively, good general condition, normal vital signs (blood pressure: 110/70 mmHg, pulse: 74 bpm, RR: 19 tpm, temperature: 36 oC).
