Abstract

Background : Laparatomy is a major operation procedure , by making an incision in the lining of the abdominal wall to obtain the problematic abdominal organ area . The lupuratomy surgery can cause pain , which if not handled properly and appropriately will become churonic pain . Foot massage is a massage method used to limit pain and to block the pain impulse transmission therefore creating analgetic and the pain experienced after surgery can reduce . General purpose : To describe the nursing care and give foot massage therapy on post laparatomy surgery patients with acute pain nursing problems . Method : The research type is descriptive research . Total samples are 5 patients post laparatomy surgery in the Intensive Care Unir ( ICU ) Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital . The research instruments are medical records , Foot Massage SOP and pain assessment scale . Nursing care results : The results of the study that have been carried out on five patients obtained according to signs and symptoms ( subjective and objective data ) presenting with acute pain . The interventions conducted to treat acute pain namely studying pain . measuring vital signs , giving analgesic drugs and conducting non - pharmacology technique ( foot masage ) . The implementations that have been conducted on five patients to treat acute pain are measuring vital signs , studying pain and conducting foot massage therapy . The evaluation results on five patients after the implementation of foot massage therapy it is found that there is a reduce in pain level felt by patients from moderate pain to mild pain . Recommendation : Based on the analysis results after the implementatio of foot massage therapy nursing care on tive patients for 2 days there is a decrease in the pain level of patients from moderate to mild , patients become calmer and more relax
