Abstract
Background: Post partum is a period of time in the form of a period in which the reproductive organs return to a non-pregnant state. Breast milk is an immune substance for babies that is given exclusively for 6 months. Oxytocin massage is a process in increasing the frequency of milk production by massaging the spine or vertebrae up to the fifth-sixth rib. General objective: To explain nursing care by giving oxytocin massage and lavender oil to spontaneous postpartum mothers to help increase breast milk production. Methods: research using descriptive method, the number of samples is 5 primiparaous post partum respondents with an observation sheet instrument. By applying oxytocin massage, it is done for 3 minutes with 1 x massage a day involving the husband. Results of nursing care: the results of the assessment of the five clients found the problem of breastfeeding ineffectiveness, the intervention carried out was by monitoring the condition of the mother and nipple, identifying the mother's desire to breastfeed. Positioning the mother comfortably, oxytocin massage with gentle massage and involving the family, especially the husband. The implementation is carried out for 3 minutes with 1 x massage a day involving the husband. Teaches how to breastfeed properly and correctly, positions the mother comfortably, explains the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding. The results of the evaluation show that the client feels comfortable, the breasts are not hard and do not feel dammed, the nipples protrude, the milk comes out / smoothly, the baby is not fussy and looks suckling. Recommendation: the application of oxytocin massage should be carried out in every health facility by involving postpartum mothers and families so that they do not experience problems of ineffectiveness and breastfeeding.
