Abstract
Background, Family therapy is a therapy that is usually applied and used for families who have problems with family process disorders. Family therapy includes effective interventions to improve family communication patterns. Objective, to describe the results of nursing care at the stage of family development of elementary school age children with nursing problems with family process disorders in families who experience ineffective communication with family therapy. Research Method, This scientific work uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The sample consists of 5 families of elementary school age developmental stage children with ineffective communication problems. The case study instrument uses family therapy SOP, effective communication SOP and effective communication observation sheets. Results, Priority nursing diagnoses in families are disruption of family processes related to changes in family roles. The intervention is family therapy with effective communication. The implementation was carried out for 5 days of meetings. The results of the evaluation in five families who had family therapy showed an indication of an increase in the pattern of effective communication from category 1 (decreasing) to category 5 (increasing) with an average increase value of 0.8%. Recommendation, The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference for the preparation of SOPs for the management of family process disorders using effective communication.
