Abstract
Background: Stroke is damage to brain tissue caused by a sudden reduction or cessation of blood supply. Brain tissue that experiences this will die and cannot function again. Sometimes a stroke is also called a CVA (cerebrovascular accident) due to a problem with the heart's blood vessels, heart disease or concurrently. Purpose: The general purpose of writing this scientific paper is to describe the results of the analysis of nursing care giving facial expressions Method: The nurse provided nursing care to five patients who had non-hemorrhagic stroke (SNH) patients who experienced facial asymmetry in the treatment room of RSUD dr. Tjitrowardojo Purworejo and carried out within three days. Result: The results of the nursing evaluation in the five patients experienced an increase in giving facial expression therapy for 3 days. It can be concluded that giving facial expression therapy can reduce stiffness in the facial muscles of SNH patients. Recommendation: It is hoped that it can enrich knowledge in independent nursing actions with collaboration to carry out nursing care, especially complementary therapies and can be used as a source of learning or applied in hospitals.
