Abstract
Background: Indonesia is the fourth country with the most population in the world. One of the government's efforts to reduce the rate of the total population is by conducting family planning porogram. The contraception method mostly used is short-term contraceptive methods, such as injection and pills. The fact is that the short-term contraceptive method widely contributesthe drop-out rate. Because of the high rate of drop-out of the short term contraception method (non LTM), the active acceptos are then suggested to use the long-term contraceptive (LTM). Objective: To implement the application of audiovisual method in making decision of the New Acceptors of implant contraceptive in private midiwfery clinic of Midwife Wiwik Gunandari, at Sarwogadung, Mirit, Kebumen. Method: This study is descriptive qualitative with a cross sectional study design. The data obtained through three stages of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Result: After implementing the innovations audio-visual method), the accpetors finally decided to change short-term contraception into long-term contraception. The reason is after having 2 children and approval from the husband, the long term contraception is more effective. Besides, this long term contraception is cheap for they only have once installation and they do not need to come to health services for family planning every month or every other three months. Conclusion: Based on the study (February-April 2016), there is an increase of acceptors using Implant contraceptive. This was because of audio-visual methods in comparison with prior counseling given by audiovisual method of short term contraception acceptors in the private midwifery clinic of Midwife Wiwik Gunandari at Sarwodadung, Mirit, Kebumen.
