Abstract
Background : Pneumonia usually shows symptoms of cough and/or difficulty breathing, such as rapid breathing and stretching of the chest wall. In general, pneumonia is classified as an infectious disease that is transmitted through the air, the source of its transmission is pneumonia sufferers who spread bacteria in the form of saliva splashes when coughing or sneezing. Then the bacteria that cause pneumonia enter the respiratory tract through the process of breathing air (inhalation) or through direct transmission General objective: To provide nursing care for pneumonia patients in the IMCI room UPTD Madukara 1 Health Center Banjarnegara, by applying pursed lips breathing exercises and giving ginger honey to the airways is not effective for treating pneumonia. Methods: This study uses a descriptive method with a case study approach. The number of samples in this study were 5 people. The instruments used include maternity nursing care formats, SOPs for making red ginger and honey herbal drinks, SOPs for giving red ginger and honey herbal drinks, SOPs for Pursed lips breathing, patient observation sheets given interventions, Giving red ginger and honey herbal drinks, and Pursed lips exercises. breathing. Nursing Care Results: From the results of the study, it was found that the patient's age was between 4-5 years old, had not attended school, and the complaints that appeared in the five patients were the accumulation of secretions in the airways. The intervention given to the five patients was airway management. The implementation was carried out on the five patients, namely monitoring respiratory frequency, monitoring additional breath sounds, providing non-pharmacological therapy for pursed lips breathing and giving honey and ginger herbal drinks. The results of the evaluation of the five patients showed a decrease in the frequency of breath and a decrease in additional breath sounds. Recommendation: giving pursed lips breathing therapy and giving honey and ginger herbal drinks have an effect on decreasing respiratory frequency and decreasing additional breath sounds in children with pneumonia in the working area of Madukara 1 Health Center.
