Abstract

Background: The World Health Organization estimates that globally 422 million people have diabetes in 2014 and it is estimated that this will increase to 642 million in 2045. Diabetes management and management is directed at the four pillars of diabetes management, namely education, medical nutrition therapy, physical exercise. and pharmacological interventions. The other management is through one form of physical exercise by doing relaxation, one of which is autogenic relaxation. Autogenic relaxation can reduce blood sugar levels and blood pressure in patients with diabetes mellitus. Objective: to provide nursing care for the application of autogenic relaxation in patients with type ii diabetes mellitus with unstable blood glucose levels in dr. Sudirman Kebumen. Method: descriptive with a case study approach. The case study subjects that will be studied are 5 patients with type II diabetes mellitus with unstable blood glucose levels. The tools in this study were nursing care formats, Nursing Kits, autogenic relaxation SOPs, assessment formats for signs of instability in blood glucose levels. Presentation of data that the author does by drawing conclusions based on subjective and objective data, which is presented in the documentation method and nursing care resume Results: The results of the study showed that the five patients had the same main complaints as dizziness, weakness, and nausea. The priority nursing diagnosis in Patients I-V is the instability of blood glucose levels. Nursing interventions performed were hyperglycemia management (I.03115) and autogenic relaxation. The nursing implementation is hyperglycemia management (I.03115) and autogenic relaxation. The results of the nursing evaluation in the five patients showed a decrease in blood glucose levels after autogenic relaxation measures were carried out in type II diabetes mellitus patients with unstable blood glucose levels, namely 197 mg/dL to 226 mg/dL. Recommendation: The results of this nursing care can be used as a reference for the preparation of SOPs for handling unstable blood glucose levels using the autogenic relaxation method.
