Abstract

Background: Families with school-age children are families who have their first child aged 6 to 13 years. One of the problems experienced by families with school-age children during the COVID-19 pandemic is the problem of using gadgets. As many as 80.6% of parents give gadgets to their children without limiting their use. Objective: To provide an overview of family nursing care at the stage of development of school-age children with problems with family process disorders. Method: This research uses a case study approach to the family or the so-called descriptive analytical case study method. The process of collecting data using interview techniques, observation, filling out questionnaires and pretest posttest. This study consisted of 3 respondents from the assisted families in Karangjoho hamlet Rt.02, Sempor village, Sempor sub-district. Results: The results of the case study from the three respondents obtained data that the three respondents were unable to control or supervise the use of children's gadgets so that a nursing diagnosis of family process disorders emerged. From these diagnoses, nursing interventions were carried out in the form of education and teaching the use of the Google Family Link application. From the nursing actions carried out for 7 days of meetings, an evaluation was carried out with the results of an increase in knowledge of the three respondents by 36.66% and the duration of using gadgets in children decreased by an average the average of the three respondents is 1 hour. Conclusion: After 7 days of meeting, it showed that the three respondents experienced a decrease in the time they used gadgets and their knowledge increased. Recommendation: the use of the google family link application and education on the impact of using gadgets on families can be applied to overcome family process disorders.
