Abstract

Background: There were about 50% children who lived in Central Java Province in 2013 washed their hands improperly, and this number was increased up to 55% in 2018. While there is an accurate method to educate children to do hand washing properly started from their early age, namely Audio Visual Method which is more enjoyable, understandable, and memorable. Objective: Find out the influence of animation video on hand washing behavior of preschool students (3-5 years old) in PMB (midwife independent practice) of Heni Winarti, Amd.Keb Method: Analytic Descriptive through Case Study. The data was collected through interviews, observations, literature, and documentation to preschool children aged 3 to 5 years old. Result: The children watched the animation video on the proper and correct way to washing hands for 5 consecutive days. The research compared the behavior of those children before and after watched the animation video through observation form. The result is 2 of 5 children were less skilled before watching the video, while all children had good skills and knowledge on proper way to washing hands.
