Abstract
Background: Section Caesarea (SC) surgery is a surgical procedure to remove the fetus through incisions in the abdominal and uterine walls. Postoperative SC patients often feel discomfort due to pain emanating from the incision in the abdominal part. So it requires nursing intervention to reduce pain. Benson relaxation is one of the non-pharmacological nursing interventions that can be done to reduce pain.. Objective: Describe nursing care by giving Benson relaxation to section Caesarea postoperative patients with acute pain nursing problems.. Method: This study work used a case study method in 5 patients. The instruments used are a nursing care format, pain assessment using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) scale, and SPO relaxation Benson. Result: Based on the results of a case study in the five patients, a nursing diagnosis was obtained, such as acute pain. In the diagnosis, the author performed a pain management intervention using Benson relaxation. The evaluation of the action showed a decrease in the level of pain from controlled to mild to severe pain (pain scale 7 to 4) and moderate pain to mild (pain scale 5- 6 to 2-4). Recommendation: It is hoped that Benson relaxation therapy can be used as an alternative in reducing pain intensity in postOperative Sectio Caesarea (SC) patients.
