Abstract

Background: Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) is the failure of the heart to pump blood throughout the body. According to World Health Organization data shows that 15.2 million people out of 56.9 million deaths in the world are caused by heart disease and stroke (WHO, 2018). Data (Riskesdas, 2018) shows that the prevalence of heart or cardiovascular disease in Indonesia is 15 people out of 1000 people, or currently there are 4.2 million people suffering from cardiovascular disease. The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) reports that 14.4% of deaths in Indonesia are caused by coronary heart disease. To reduce and control shortness of breath can be done with non-pharmacological measures that can be used in CHF patients, namely the administration of semi-fowler positions and Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (ACBT). Objective: Describes the nursing care given to patients with decreased cardiac output in Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) patients at the PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital Emergency Installation. Methods: This research uses a case study method with a descriptive research design. The number of samples is 5 patients. The instruments used are SOP semi Fowler's position and active cycle of breathing technique. Nursing innovations that are applied are semi Fowler's position and active cycle of breathing technique given 1 time in 2 hours for 10-15 minutes and carried out for 6 hours of treatment. Result: Patients with nursing problems with decreased cardiac output are given, namely Semi Fowler's position and Active Cycle of Breathing Technique given 1 time in 2 hours for 10-15 minutes and carried out for 6 hours of treatment. The result is a decrease in breathing frequency and oxygen saturation. Recommendation: Health workers can apply to patients, and as a recommendation Semi Fowler's position and active cycle og breathing technique to reduce shortness of breath in the hospital.
