Abstract

Background: Sectio caesarea is one method of delivery to remove the baby, namely by surgically making an incision in the mother's abdomen, which is called a laparotomy and uterus (histectomy). Problems that often arise in the action after caesarean section due to incisions, which experience tears in the uterine and abdominal wall tissue can cause pain in the mother, because of continuity after surgery. Post cesarean section clients will feel pain, which is a sequelae caused by caesarean section surgery. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be given to acute pain after cesarean section is Autogenic Relaxation. Autogenic relaxation is one of the non-pharmacological interventions to reduce pain and is very easy to do by nurses. Relaxation is a condition of a person who will feel mental and physical freedom from tension and stress. Autogenic relaxation can be done with imagination by imagining yourself in a state of peace and calm, by focusing on each breath and heart pressure. This relaxation will help the body to follow orders through autosuggestion, namely to be more relaxed, so that it can control blood pressure, breathing, heart rate, breathing, body temperature, the body will feel warmth, which is the effect of peripheral arteries experiencing vasodilation, while the body's muscle tension will decreased, causing a mild sensation. General Objectives: To analyze acute pain nursing care, with the application of Autogenic Relaxation, in post cesarean section patients at Prof.Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Hospital. Results: The results of the application were carried out to the five post-cesarean patients with acute physical pain nursing problems carried out for 2 days 5 people (100%) respondents had experienced a decrease in the pain scale they experienced. Recommendation: For further researchers, it is hoped that they can examine the use of autogenic relaxation therapy to reduce pain scale in post-cesarean surgery patients with a longer period of time.
