Abstract

Background : In the early post partum, the amount of hemoglobin, hematocrit and erythrocytes tend to decrease. This is due to the changeable volume of blood and placenta and the rate of blood volume. This level is influenced by the nutritional status and hydtrate of the mother. From 35 mothers giving birth at Sampang, Kebumen. There are 10 of them who experienced postpartum anemia. There are 8 perperal mothers with Hb <11 g%, 1 mother with Hb 9-10 g% No 1, and only one mother with Hb <7gr%. According to the study to increase hemoglobin can be done by consuming the kurma extract, Kurma extract is a kind of specific drink functioning as treatment and healthcare for the body containing iron mineral. It is essential for the formation of hemoglobin to increase hemoglobin level in the body. Objective : To be able to know the use of kurma extract to increase hemoglobin level of Mrs. P, a 31 year-old postpartum mother in private midwifery clinic of Midwife Djumi Widarti at Sempor, Kebumen. Method : This scientific paper uses observational method with the case studiy. The data was obtained through data reduction, presenting data, and conclusion. Results : The hemoglobin level of Mrs. P was 10.4 g, but after the delivery it increased at 1.2% g% after consuming kurma extract during 7 days of post partum. Therefore, it could be stated that Mrs. P did not have post partum anemia.
