Abstract
Background: Elderly is an advanced stage of a life process where the individual has reached 60 years and over which is characterized by gradual physical, mental and social decline. The elderly will experience many changes and decrease in physical and psychological functions, this will cause various problems in the elderly which will affect their self-assessment. This feeling of worthlessness and worthlessness is called low selfesteem. The generalist nursing action given to patients with situational low self-esteem is to train patients to identify the positive abilities of the patient and to practice the positive abilities of the patient. In addition to generalist nursing actions, there are also specialist nursing actions that can be given to patients with situational low self-esteem. Individual specialist therapy that can be given to patients with situational low self-esteem is horticultural therapy General Objective: To analyze nursing care for the elderly with situational low selfesteem nursing problems by gardening through polybags at Posyandu Lansia, Buniayu Village, Banyumas Regency Methods: This research was conducted with a descriptive method through a case study approach. Descriptive method is a series of objects that generally have a purpose to describe phenomena (one of them) that arise in a certain population. This type of case report uses nursing care studies. This research was conducted in Buniayu Village, Banyumas District in July 2022. The instruments used to take this case include the nursing care format. Implementation strategy on low self-esteem that is carried out for 30 minutes. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for gardening therapy. And the measurement of situational low self-esteem using the Rosenberg Self Esteem questionnaire. Nursing Care Results: After being given gardening exercises with polybags, it was found that the five respondents experienced an increase in RSES (Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale) > 15. Recommendation: Future researchers are expected to be able to examine the use of other non-pharmacological therapies to overcome the problem of situational low self-esteem in the elderly.
