Abstract

Bacground, Jackfruit leaf (Artocarpus heterophyllus.) is one of the plants that is efficacious as an analgesic or relieving pain. Pain is an emotional and sensory experience related to tissue and gives a sign that there are disturbances in the body. Purpose, This study aims to determine the analgesic activity of jackfruit leaf methanol and aquadest extract (Artocarpus heterophyllus.) against white mice by writhing test method. Method, This research was conducted using chemical stimulation method on 40 white Swiss strain mice which were divided into 8 treatment groups. Group I as positive control (mefenamic acid), group II as negative control (CMC Na 1%), groups III, IV, and V as extracts akuadest at a dose of 150 mg/Kg BW, 300 mg/Kg BW, and 600 mg/Kg BW, And groups VI, VII, and VIII as extracts metanol at a dose of 150 mg/Kg BW, 300 mg/Kg BW, and 600 mg/Kg BW. The test solution was given orally 30 minutes before pain was induced using 1% acetic acid. Observations were made for 10 minutes and were induced, then stretching was observed for 2 hours, marked by the pulling of the legs back until the abdomen touched the bottom of the space occupied. calculate the percent protection of each test solution. The data obtained were then statistically tested with One Way ANOVA and Post Hoc Games-Howell. Results, The results showed that the methanol and aquadest extract of jackfruit leaf (Artocarpus heterophyllus.) at a dose of 600 mg/Kg BW had good analgesic activity because it had the highest percentage of protection because it could reduce the stretching of the test animals better. All treatment groups had significant differences with negative control (p<0.05). positive control had a significant difference with the extract dose of 600 mg/Kg BW with p < 0.05. Conclusion, Based on the research, the analgesic effect of jackfruit leaf extract (Artocarpus heterophyllus.) is best at a dose of 600 mg/Kg BW with methanol and akuadest percent protection value of 95% and 93,4% has a better analgesic effect than positive control. Suggestion, further research needs to be done using different analgesic methods and it is necessary to do a toxicity test on jackfruit leaf methanol and aquadest extract.
