Abstract
Background : Infectious disease is a disease caused by several microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi. Guava leaves (Psidium guajava L) and arumanis mango leaves (Mangifera indica. L. var. arumanis) can be used as natural antibiotics because they contain active substances that act as antibacterial. Objectives : To determine the most effective antibacterial activity in the combination of two natural ingredients against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria which has potential as an antibacterial. Methodology : This research is experimental using Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The extraction method was carried out by maceration using 70% ethanol as a solvent. The antibacterial activity test was carried out using the well diffusion method with a concentration difference of 6.25% and a concentration of 12.5%. Result : The results of the combination of EDJB and EDMA had better combined extract activity compared to single extracts, both guava and arumanis mango leaves. At concentrations of 6.25% and 12.5% the diameter of the largest inhibition zone was in a ratio of 2:1, but the best activity on Staphylococcus aureus was 12.5% with a ratio of 2:1 with an inhibition zone diameter of 15.6. ±0.115. Conclusion : The combination of ethanol extract of guava and arumanis mango leaves had the best activity in inhibiting Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, which was concentrated at 12.5% with a ratio of 2:1 with a strong category. Recommendations: conducting further research in the manufacture of formulations and preparations as antibacterial.
