Abstract

Background, counting a herbal medicine is an ancestral estate the people in the form of traditional medicines that its use are done from generation to generation as a treatment and maintenance.Jamu gendong is a traditional medicine made by others that is sold by going around either by carrying or riding a bicycle or motorcycle. Microbial contamination in herbal preparations is related to the selection of raw materials, processing, and presentation. The process of making herbal medicine is still very simple and minimal hygiene makes it possible that the carrying herbal preparations are contaminated with microorganisms. Objective, was to determine the value of Angka Kapang/Khamir (AKK) and Angka Lempeng Total (ALT) and to find out the comparison between herbal medicine sellers with one another in seeing the lowest number of colonies in the preparation of Jamu gendong curcuma, saffron-colored rice, acid turmeric, and Bitterness types at Karanganyar Market, Kebumen Regency. Methods, This research is a descriptive non-experimental research that describes AKK and ALT by comparing the existing government regulations in BPOM RI/32/2019 regarding the quality requirements of traditional medicines. Results, the results of research conducted on 5 sellers A, B, C, D and E stated that the AKK test met the requirements for all sellers, namely <103 colonies/gram and in the ALT test only sellers B, C, E met the requirements, namely <105 colonies/gram. Statistical test analysis was conducted to see the comparison between sellers. Statistical results on the AKK test stated that the order of samples from the best sellers were: samples of ginger sellers E, B, C, D, A ; samples of kencur rice sellers B, C, D, E and A ; samples of turmeric tamarind sellers B, C, D, E and A and samples of bitter sellers B, C, D, E and A. Statistical results on the ALT test stated that the order of samples from the best sellers were: samples of temulawak sellers C, E and B, samples of kencur rice from sellers C, E and B, samples of turmeric from sellers E, C and B and samples of bitters from sellers C, B and E. Conclusion, all the herbal medicine sellers met the requirements for the AKK and 3 sellers of the carrying herbal medicine met the requirements for the ALT. Recommendations, further research can be done regarding the pathogenic bacteria found in the herbal preparations, such as Esherichia coli, Salmonella and Pseudomonas.bacteria.
