Abstract

Background: The number of elderly people in the Kebumen Regency is 131,786 people. Getting older will be a reason for physical and mental problems in elderly people. The government's effort to improve health services is providing the Posyandu for the elderly. The factors that influence the Posyandu for elderly people are knowledge, family support, and motivation. Objective: To describe the knowledge, family support, and motivation of the elderly to follow the Posyandu in Mangunharjo Village. Method: The research method used is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach. The total population was 300 patients and they are taken using a simple random sampling technique. The total number of samples was 172 respondents. Collecting data used a structured questionnaire and analyzed by univariate. Results: This study found that most of the knowledge of the elderly people who followed the elderly Posyandu was in good categories (43.0%). The family who gave support to family members to attend the Posyandu were in good categorized (40.1%), and the elderly’s motivation for being in the Posyandu was good categorized (57.6%). Conclusion: The elderly who attended the Posyandu in Mangunharjo Village had good knowledge, family support, and motivation. This can be seen from the questionnaire data for the
