Abstract

Background: Children at preschool aged are very easy to contract the disease because the immune system is not well formed. Prevention efforts that can be done by washing hands. Health education for children about hand washing needs to be done with an interesting method, one of which is a puzzle game. Objectives: To determine the effect of puzzle games on hand washing skills in preschool children at TK Mardisiwi Tersidilor. Methods: Quasi-experimental design (one group pre–post test design), with a sample of 34 preschool aged children was taken by total sampling. Data analysis used paired sample t-test, the instrument used was hand washing observation sheet Results: The results of hand washing skills in the pre test and post test have increased, namely in the good category increasing from 0 children (0%) to 34 children (100%). The results of the analysis show a significance result of .000 (p=<0.005) which means there is an effect of puzzle games on hand washing skills. Conclusion: There is an effect of puzzle games on hand washing skills in preschool children at TK Mardisiwi Tersidilor.
