Abstract
Background: Surgical safety checklist is a communication tool for patient safety that is used by a professional team in the operating room. Good quality of care can be assessed by several indicators, one of which is compliance in applying surgical patient safety. Objective: to find out factors influencing the compliance of surgical patient safety time out phase application at the Central Surgical Instalation of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Methods: This is a non-experimental research using descriptive method with correlative design and cross sectional approach. The samples consisted of 25 members of surgical team that were on duty in the Central Surgical Installation of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Results: the chi square analyses show X² = 11.049 with p value = 0.011 (p<0.05) which means that there is an influence of education to the application of surgical patient safety time out phase, X² = 10.462 with p value =0.005 which means that there is an influence of knowledge to the application of surgical patient safety time out phase, and X² = 14.035 with p value =0.000 which means that there is an influence of motivation to the application of surgical patient safety time out phase. Resume : There are influences of education, knowledge, and motivation factors to the implementation of surgical patient safety time out phase at the Central Surgical Instalation of PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. The most dominant factor influencing surgical patient safety time out phase at the Central Surgical Instalation of PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital is the knowledge factor.
