Abstract

Background: Stroke is a neurological disease that is often encountered and must be treated quickly and appropriately. Stroke requires prompt treatment and this is greatly influenced by proper early detection at pre-hospital. Efforts to reduce the number of patients with recurrent stroke, it is important for patients to not only understand the importance of the rehabilitation process but also understand the importance of controlling risk factors. Objective: to describe the behavior of controlling stroke risk factors at the Buluspesantren I Public Health Center Methods: The research method is descriptive with a survey approach. The population to be taken in this study is 1529 people. The author took data from 94 people who were taken by purposive sampling. The instrument or measuring instrument used in this study is a questionnaire. Data were analyzed descriptively Results: Respondents at the Buluspesantren I Public Health Center with age category 40 years (91.5%) and male (60.6%). Respondents at the Buluspesantren I Public Health Center had a moderate category of stroke risk factor control behavior (51.1%). Recommendation: It is necessary to conduct research by providing counseling interventions to get a clear picture of the effect of providing counseling interventions on the behavior of respondents in the form of controlling stroke risk factors.
