Abstract

Background: Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is a virus reason to respiratory diseases. Social media in education is hoped able to improve people's compliance with the COVID-19 prevention protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic and it will be an effort to stop the disease chain. Objective: To find out the relationship between social media in education and people's compliance with COVID-19 prevention protocols. Methods: This study was a quantitative descriptive correlation design with a crosssectional approach. The total number of respondents in this study was 97 respondents. Data analysis used univariate, and the Spearman Rank test was utilized to know the correlation between both variables. Results: The results of this study were 72 (74.2%) respondents had a good category after getting an education through social media, while respondents who had sufficient category were 23 (9.4%) respondents, and only 2 respondents were in a low category (2.1). Respondents were compliant to apply the COVID-19 prevention protocols, there were 84 respondents (86.6%), while 13 respondents did not comply (13.4%). Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between social media in education and people's compliance with the COVID-19 prevention protocols with a p-value (of 0.000), which means that p <0.05 and a correlation coefficient value of r = 0.803. Recommendation: Further research can conduct factors why people comply with the COVID-19 prevention protocols.
