Abstract
Background: A severe decrease in kidney function can lead to a build-up of toxins and impurities in the blood (GFR) < 60 ml /min / 1.73 mm2. This is one way to treat advanced kidney failure and can help you carry on an active life despite failing kidneys. The impacts of haemodialysis on the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual of the patient. Objective: To explore the lived experiences of patients with chronic renal failure during undergoing haemodialysis. Method: This study used qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach. The study took a population of chronic renal failure patients who underwent haemodialysis in PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong hospital and eight respondents joined this study. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with respondents. Result: The experiences of respondents have obtained four themes, they were the existence of biological, psychological, social, and spiritual impacts. Then they were divided into several categories. Conclusion: Based on the interview results that there were impacts on chronic renal failure patients undergoing haemodialysis including the biological impact, psychological impact, social impact, and spiritual impact. Recommendation: Further research hope expected that not only in patients but also with families, interviews will also be carried out.
