Abstract
Background: Hospitalization is a process that requires children to stay in the hospital to undergo therapy and treatment until they recover and eventually return home. Hospitalization of children who are not resolved can be an experience that causes trauma to both the child and parents, causing an anxiety reaction. Objective: to determine the relationship between parental anxiety and hospitalization anxiety in pre-school children at RSUD dr. Sudirman, Kebumen. Methods: The research method is correlation with cross-sectional approach. The population is 677 pre-school children. A sample of 96 pre-school children was taken by purposive sampling. Parental anxiety was measured by Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), while children's anxiety was measured by Facial Image Scale (FIS). Data were analyzed descriptively and correlatively using the Kendal thau test. Result : Parents at RSUD dr. Sudirman Kebumen with mild category anxiety (39.2%). Pre-school children at RSUD dr. Sudirman Kebumen with mild category anxiety (42.3%). There is a relationship between parental anxiety and hospitalization anxiety in pre-school children at dr. Sudirman, Kebumen. The heavier the parent's anxiety, the heavier the child's anxiety
