Abstract

Background: Anemia is a lack of hemoglobin in the blood which is caused by nutritional deficiency. Anemia of pregnant women is physiological but can be dangerous if not treated and can threaten the health of the mother and the baby she is carrying. Obedience of pregnant women in consuming FE tablets is an important thing to do. Objectives: To determine the relationship between adherence to consuming FE tablets with the incidence of anemia at Ambal Community Health Center II. Methods: This study uses a correlational quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling using total sampling technique and obtained a sample of 65 respondents. Data were collected using a compliance questionnaire to consume Fe tablets. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis using chi square test. Results: The results of this study showed that adherence to consuming FE tablets was 40 people (61.5%). While the incidence of 59 people were not anemic (90.8%). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between adherence to consuming Fe tablets with the incidence of anemia at Ambal Community Health Center II, with p-value (0.000) (<0.05). Recommendation: Future researchers are expected to be able to examine the factors associated with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women.
