Abstract

Background, Indonesia has 1. 637.973 islamic student with 268.289 in Central Java and 18.555 in Banyumas. Violations that are often committed by islamic student include smoking, carrying cellphones, leaving the boarding school during school hours, and establising relationships with opposite sex. Resilience is influenced by internal and external factors. Objective, knowing the effect of spirituality, self efficacy, self esteem, optimism, and social support to the santri resilience. Methods, the method used in this reseach is quantitative with correlational design. The sampel in this study was 123 islamic student. The instrument used is resilience using the CD-RISC scale, spirituality using the DSES scale, self efficacy using the General Self Efficacy scale, self esteem using the Rosenberg Self Esteem scale, optimism using the LOT-R scale and social support using the MSPSS scale. Data analysis using the Kendall Tau Test. Research Result, based on the Kendall Tau test, correlation coefficient of spirituality and resilience (r=0.305, p=0.001), self efficacy and resilience (r=0.325, p=0.000), self esteem and resilience (r=0.396, p=0.000), optimism and resilience (r=0.359, p=0.000), and social support and resilience (r=0.414, p=0.000). Conclusion, There is a positive and significant effect between spirituality, self efficacy, self esteem, optimism, and social support to islamic student resilience. Recommendations, it is hope that futher reseachers can examine about male and female resiliece and level of anxiety experienced, especially new islamic student in the boarding school environment.
