Abstract
Background: The daily activities of teenagers are associated with various social and academic. These impacts to stress included the students are range in teenager age, especially they are studying in a boarding school. Stress experienced by adolescents can have an impact on hormonal imbalances, it can cause changes in the period cycle. Objective: To determine the relationship between the stress level of students who are memorizing the Alfiyah Ibnu Malik book with the period cycle in the santri of Madrasah Alyah Al-Iman Bulus Purworejo. Method: This study was a quantitative correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The research location was in Al-Iman Bulus Islamic Boarding School Purworejo and it was conducted in July 2022. The research sample was 77 respondents, they were chosen by simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used the PSS-10 stress level questionnaire and the menstrual. Respondents’ data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Result: Based on the Chi-Square test, the p-value showed 0.000 or <0.05, which means that there was a significant relationship between stress levels and the period cycle of the students in MA Al-Iman Bulus Purworejo. Conclusion: There was a relationship between stress levels and the period cycle in students of MA Al-Iman Bulus Purworejo Recommendation: Further research can conduct a study about factors related to stress and period cycles in students and how to overcome them.
