Abstract

Latar belakang: Afterpains are pain (cramps and heartburn) caused by uterine contractions that cause pain that disturbs the comfort of the mother during the postpartum period. This can lead to decreased appetite, impaired mobility, rest and sleep, and even cause anxiety. This serious problem must be immediately noticed and handled by a nurse. Tujuan: To describe nursing care for postpartum patients with discomfort (afterpain) problems with the application of effleurage massage therapy at Purwogondo General Hospital. Metode: This study used a case study method, the process of collecting data by conducting interviews, observations, documentation, and literature studies. The respondents of this study consisted of 3 spontaneous postpartum patients, the case study instrument in this study used the format of nursing care, observation method, and SOP. The giving effleurage massage therapy was carried out 3 days later to find out the level of pain was measured using the NRS and recorded on the observation sheet. Hasil Studi Kasus: After being given massage therapy effleurage for 3 days, the results of the pain scale were patient 1 from a scale of 8 to a scale of 5, patient 2 from a scale of 7 to a scale of 4, patient 3 froma scale of 8 to a scale of 4 Kesimpulan: Giving massage therapy efflux to reduce afterpains pain in spontaneous postpartum patients has been shown to reduce pain scale and pain complaints.
