Abstract

Background: Hypertension is blood pressure above 135/85 mmHg. People aged 18 years and over have borderline hypertension if their blood pressure exceeds 140/90mmHG. Blood pressure is an important indicator of the circulatory system, an increase or decrease in blood pressure can affect the balance of the body. People with hypertension are mostly asymptomatic but some symptoms may be unwanted or unexpected. To treat and control high blood pressure, to prevent complications, treatment with drugs and non-drugs. Objective: The general purpose of writing this scientific paper is to explain nursing care by giving foot soaks with warm water to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients Results: The results of the assessment carried out on hypertensive patients obtained data on the main complaints, namely pain and heavy head radiating to the nape of the neck. The priority nursing diagnosis is acute pain associated with a physiological injuring agent. The nursing intervention carried out was pain management with non-pharmacological techniques (warm ginger bath). The nursing implementation was carried out for 3x24 hours, namely pain management: teaching ginger warm water immersion techniques to lower blood pressure, comprehensively assessing pain including (location, characteristics, duration, frequency), monitoring pain levels and monitoring TTV. Conclusion: Giving ginger warm compress therapy has a significant effect on reducing pain scale in elderly patients with hypertension Recommendation: Administration of tandem walking exercise therapy with balance exercise can reduce the risk of falls in elderly patients.
