Abstract
Background : Family support for chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis is very important to note, because with family support the patient will feel loved, given attention, and feel loved. So that patients are able to maintain hemodialysis therapy and adhere to the diet they are undergoing. Patients with chronic renal failure generally have a 90% outcome. The support provided is expected to have a good effect on the patient's condition. Objective : To find out the description of family support for dietary compliance in chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at PKU Muhammadyah Gombong Hospital. Research Methods : This study is a descriptive quantitative study with a cross sectional approach with a population of 157 patients with chronic kidney failure. The sample used by purposive sampling . The number of samples in this study amounted to 113 respondents. Data collection is done in 6-7 days, it takes about 20 minutes. Statistical tests using Descriptive Statistics Frequencies data collection was carried out in July-August 2021, the instrument was using the Family Support Questionnaire. Research Results : Based on the results of this study, it was found that the unvariate analysis of the characteristics of the majority age 46-65 years (48.7%), the sex of the majority were male (58.4), the majority of occupations were not working (53.1%), and the majority of family support is good (55.8%) and consists of good information support (80.5%), good award support (77.9%), good instrumental support (88.5%), and good emotional support (60 ,2%). Conclusion : In this study, it was found that the majority of respondents received good family support. Recommendation : For hospitals to not only focus on curative efforts, but also carry out promotive efforts by providing education, motivation and evaluation
