Abstract
Background: Babies born weighing less than 2,500 g are a problem that can threaten the baby's life, because low birth weight babies have hypothermia problems which take a long time to normalize their body temperature. To overcome the hypothermia experienced by the baby, the kangaroo method was applied. ix Universitas Muhammadiyah Gombong Objective: To describe the application of the kangaroo method to low birth weight (LBW) infants to maintain body temperature. Methods: This research study uses a descriptive type with a case study method by finding or investigating existing problems, then performing therapy or nursing actions on LBW infants using the kangaroo method to overcome hypothermia in LBW infants. Case Study Results: After being given the application of the kangaroo method, the problem of hypothermia in infants increased the average body temperature. Conclusion: The problem of hypothermia in LBW infants when the kangaroo method is applied can maintain body temperature.
