Abstract
Background: Problems at the stage of adolescent development are very complex, especially regarding health problems, one of which is a knowledge deficit about smoking. The knowledge deficit about smoking is the lack of knowledge about the dangers of smoking in adolescents and the lack of support from the family to modify a healthy and smoke-free environment. Purpose: To describe nursing care for adolescent children with knowledge deficit in adolescents who smoke. Methods: This research uses a case study method. The process of collecting data using interview techniques, observation and physical examination. Respondents in this study consisted of 3 families who have teenagers with smoking habits. Health education was carried out for 1 week to solve the problem of knowledge deficit in adolescents with smoking habits. Case Study Results: After 5 meetings with nursing care, the problem of knowledge deficit in adolescents with smoking habits can be partially resolved through health education (pre test and post test). Conclusion: The problem of knowledge deficit about the dangers of smoking through health education can overcome smoking habits in adolescents.
