Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease which is often called a silent killer in various countries in the world including Indonesia. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019 shows an estimate of 1.13 billion people in the world who have hypertension, and only 1 in 5 is controlled. The problem of pain nursing if not resolved in patients with hypertension can greatly affect morbidity and mortality. Treatment of hypertension with acute pain problems can be done one way with foot massage therapy. Objective: To analyze nursing care for acute pain nursing problems in hypertensive patients in the ICU Room of PKU Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital Method: This scientific writing uses a descriptive case study design. The case study subjects were 5 hypertensive patients, who experienced acute pain problems. Collecting data with observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Results: From the five patients after the fifth patient's foot massage, in Patient 1 there was a decrease in pain level by 3 scales, Patient 2 by 4 scales, Patient 3 by 2 scales and Patient 4 by 6 scales and Patient 5 by 5 scales with an average pain relief 4. Conclusion: Foot massage techniques are effective in reducing pain in hypertensive patients.
