Abstract
Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that can attack various organs, especially the lungs. If this disease is not treated fully, it can cause dangerous complications and even death. TB cadres have the responsibility to find TB cases and assist in assisting the community. The ability of cadres to mobilise the community determines the success of spreading health messages to it. Objective: To describe the role of cadres in the implementation of the tuberculosis programme in the Batur 1 Community Health Centre. Method: This study used the descriptive-analytical method. The sample technique used in the study was simple random sampling. The sample size for this study was 51 respondents. Result: The results of the study found that most respondents had joined as cadres for more than a 10-year period (39.2%). Most cadres roles in combating tuberculosis were in the sufficient category (82.4%), cadres who found tuberculosis cases were in the sufficient category (64.7%), and cadres who assisted tuberculosis patients in treatment were in the sufficient category (54.9%). Conclusion: The results of the study obtained showed that cadres played a sufficient role in the implementation of the tuberculosis programme in the Batur I community health centre. Recommendations: A further researcher hoped to add other variables such as motivation of cadres viewed from incentives, following training, influence from community health centres, and environment.
