Abstract
Background: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem experienced by toddlers with the characteristics of their height when compared to other toddlers of the same age who tend to be shorter. Susceptibility to disease and a greater risk of developing degenerative diseases as adults will be experienced by children with stunting. Not only has an impact on children's health, but stunting can also affect children's intelligence (Ministry Of Health the Republic Of Indonesia). Factors related to stunting in Ethiopia, include low birth weight, lack of maternal ANC visits, initiation of complementary foods that were not given on time, older age, and female sex. A very significant factor in the study was low birth weight. (Abeway et al) Purposes: The purpose of this study was to determine birth weight with the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the working area of the Kebumen 1 Primary Health Care, Kebumen Regency. Methods: This research is quantitative research using a descriptive research design. Sampling used a total sampling technique from stunted toddlers who weighed in June 2022. Result: The results of the study showed that 92.3% of the toddler's birth weight was in the normal category. The incidence of stunting in toddlers in a short category of 75.8% and a very short category of 24.2% of a total of 182 toddlers. The characteristics of toddlers with male sex are 55.5% more at risk of stunting. Toddlers aged 13-24 months 25.8% experience stunting Conclusion: The birth weight of stunted toddlers weighed in June 2022, the majority of normal birth weight, around 92.3%. Recommendation: Research related to birth weight as a risk of stunting with other research methods and a wider location so that it can describe the overall situation.
