Abstract

Background: The achievement indicator for the percentage of infants aged less than 6 months who are receiving exclusive breastfeeding has met the 2020 target, which is 40%. The problem that often occurs in postpartum or post partum mothers is the lack of exclusive breastfeeding which causes milk intake to be inadequate so that they experience dissatisfaction after breastfeeding, the baby's stool is large, the baby is often fussy, and the breasts feel full and sore. The problem of the ineffectiveness of exclusive breastfeeding must be addressed immediately to minimize the impact it causes. Interventions that can be given to post partum mothers to facilitate milk production are the marmet massage technique. Purpose: Explaining nursing care for post partum mothers with ineffective breastfeeding problems with the application of the guinea pig technique at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital. Method: This scientific writing uses a descriptive case study design. The subjects of the case study were 5 post partum mothers who experienced problems with ineffective breastfeeding. Collecting data with observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. Results: The results showed that after being given the guinea pig technique to the five patients, it was achieved with the indicator that the patient said the milk was starting to come out, the baby was not fussy and started to sleep soundly after every feeding. The baby seems to be sleeping soundly, the milk seems to be seeping, there is an increase in milk production in the range of 35-100 cc. Conclusion: Provision of guinea pig techniques to post partum mothers is effective for overcoming breastfeeding problems but not effective at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital.
